The Church of Our Lady of Help, located in Freguesia, Ilha do Governador (Rio de Janeiro), traces its origins to a chapel built between 1710 and 1741. The current structure is the result of reconstructions following a fire in 1871, with significant renovations carried out between 1898 and 1900. The church was officially listed as a historical heritage site in 1938.
