Description:
The Palace of the Arts designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1971 is one of the most important cultural complex in Belo Horizonte, is a remarkable example of architecture and engineering. With its imposing structure, ornate details, and a design that reflects the grandeur of cultural projects, the building plays a fundamental role in the city’s history.
The project involved modeling the Palace of the Arts in Revit, covering both the facade and the roof as part of as-built documentation. The BIM methodology began with 3D laser scanning, accurately capturing characteristic elements of the building, such as imposing columns, elaborated stained glass windows, and theater for over 1,000 people. The generated point cloud was processed to create an accurate digital model, ensuring historical fidelity and enabling future conservation and revitalization interventions for the space.
